the guilt

In nanowrimo, ramblings on November 3, 2008 at 9:01 pm

i’m quitting nanowrimo. at a paltry 217 words. i feel it’s important for you to know i achieved nano success my first time (2006). exceeded the 50,000 words. but this year it is not meant to be.

my mood is more than sour. my ambitions have deteriorated into one very simple directive: “don’t do anything stupid.”

(but try, please do try, to continue the poetry gong and make progress toward manuscript and publishing goals so all will not be lost when the pendulum swings the other way.)

nanowrimo update

In nanowrimo on November 1, 2008 at 9:43 pm

i used my nanowrimo energy and time today to organize some of the ideas i had. should have done it before november 1, but i haven’t been taking it too seriously. i made lots and lots of notes but wrote very little.

word count 11/1: 217 of 217

p.s. i’m watching the shining. one of the best lines? “you are the caretaker. you’ve always been the caretaker.”
